22, 2006 Courthouse safe for daily use Salinas: Asbestos testing shows building is clear, report says By GEORGE B.

SANCHEZ Herald Salinas Bureau Court employees and the public are safe inside the north wing of the Salinas Courthouse while it undergoes construction, according to a report by the company hired to monitor for airborne asbestos.

Meanwhile, construction workers have not returned to the site since February.

A report by Donald Diel, president of C&W Environmental Consulting, said "there is no reason to believe that the project has resulted in a significant health hazard to the county employees, the courtroom employees or the general public." The report, dated March 18, is based on the res...
