SANCHEZ Herald Salinas Bureau Court employees and the public are safe inside the north wing of the Salinas Courthouse while it undergoes construction, according to a report by the company hired to monitor for airborne asbestos. Meanwhile, construction workers have not returned to the site since February. A report by Donald Diel, president of C&W Environmental Consulting, said "there is no reason to believe that the project has resulted in a significant health hazard to the county employees, the courtroom employees or the general public."
